We need your help! Since September the College Archives Department has been working with a photographic conservator to save the SCT photos which hang along Our Lady’s Corridor and further down the corridor axis. There are a total of 128 photos and many are badly damaged. In some instances another version of the photo exists so that this can be scanned and re-mounted to replace the flaking, fading and, in some cases, disappearing photos.
For the team photos of 1940, 1944, 1947 and 1949 we have no original or alternative versions of the hanging photos. Two of these are all severely faded. If you recognise one or two of the names in these photos and think you might have a copy in your family’s collection please get in touch with the Union (unionoffice@rock.ie) or Archives Department (archives@blackrockcollege.com). All we need to do is scan it and return it to you.
