Blue & White Support Group

The Blue and White Support Group continues to strive to reach out to Rock men going through a difficult period in their lives by providing support, guidance, and friendship. The needs of those seeking assistance ranges from moral support to practical support and from financial planning to financial assistance. Sometimes a non-judgmental conversation is enough to see the trees from the wood! To make contact with the Blue and White Support group please contact the office confidentially at unionoffice@rock.ie and we will arrange for you to be called back by a member of the support group. You can also avail of the services of the Spiritan Safeguarding Office, Liam Lally (0868312987) Liam.lally@spiritanplt.ie  should you feel it is appropriate to your circumstances.

The Mission Fund

The Mission Fund was established by the Union to provide financial support to the Spiritans' missionary work. The Spiritans (Holy Ghost Fathers) provide direct assistance to the world's poorest regions, where the level of poverty and living conditions is often unimaginable. Although our financial assistance will never compare to the sacrifice of the Spiritans, who have dedicated their lives to such work, it does nonetheless make a very real impact as all money raised goes directly to specific cases or projects. Monies received are applied mainly to educational projects in African missions and other regions.

St Vincent de Paul

"The question which is agitating the world today is a social one. It is a struggle between those who have nothing and those who have too much. It is a violent clash of opulence and poverty which is shaking the ground under our feet. Our duty as Christians is to throw ourselves between these two camps in order to accomplish by love what justice alone cannot do"
Those words, spoken in 1834 by the Founder of the Society of St.Vincent de Paul, Frederic Ozanam, remain accurate in today's world.

The Blackrock College Conference members provide assistance to the poor and disadvantaged members our community in a numbers of ways:

It provides targeted education support (in consultation with the local educational professional and SVP Development Officer in West Tallaght) for third level students from the disadvantaged areas in this deprived location. This strategy helps the students to overcome their deprived backgrounds and to demonstrate that they can succeed and become a source of inspiration to other budding students in the area, hoping to break out of the poverty trap. Currently, in excess of 15 students from under privileged areas in West Tallaght have been supported in their third level studies.
