The Union is saddened to learn of the loss of Paul Costelloe

Paul Costelloe, one of the most established, celebrated and influential figures in Irish and British fashion, has passed away in London surrounded by his family after a short illness. His loss will be deeply felt across the worlds of design, retail, and the arts, where his creative vision and craftsmanship left a lasting mark for more than four decades.

Born in Dublin, Paul rose to become a household name, renowned for his distinctive style, his commitment to quality, and his remarkable ability to blend elegance with modernity. His work earned him international acclaim, dressing distinguished clients and showcasing collections on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. His contribution to Irish design was immense, and he remained a proud ambassador for Irish creativity throughout his life.

Paul is deeply mourned by his devoted wife and their seven children — Jessica, William, Robert, Gavin, Justin, Paul-Emmet and Nicholas — along with their partners, grandchildren, extended families, and all who loved him dearly. He leaves behind not only an extraordinary professional legacy but a warm, generous and much-loved presence in the lives of those who knew him.
