Michael Danby-Smith Class of 1962

Michael Danby-Smith died on June 8, 2022, aged seventy-eight. After Blackrock College and UCD, he did post-graduate studies in Canada at McMaster University in Hamilton and the University of Toronto. He lectured at St. Francois Xavier University in Nova Scotia then taught Philosophy and Humanities at Vanier College, Montreal for over thirty years.

He leaves behind his sister, Valerie Hemingway, and his brothers, Robin Smith and Peter Danby-Smith and his wife, Maureen. He was devoted to his niece Vanessa and to his nephews Adam, Brendan, Sean and Edward and their families.
