St Vincent de PaulThis conference is a true blend of past and present, combining the experience of the past pupils with the energy and enthusiasm of the current pupils. Through the combined efforts over €90,000 was raised from various fund raising activities, including the sales of Christmas trees, a duck race, fasts, a Table Quiz and a Soccer Marathon. The main activities of the conference centre on supporting underprivileged communities in Killinarden, Tallaght in terms of educational programmes etc. Regular visits by teams of current and past pupils are made to families in that community including preparing and delivering Christmas hampers to over 200 families. Twenty third level students are given €200 per month to diminish the pressure to drop out or take on part time work. Last year, one student graduated from Maynooth College with a BSc honours degree, while another girl won a scholarship to do Nursing, thus motivating young children in their community to raise their aspirations.
