There was a very impressive turnout of past Presidents at the Presidents’ Dinner held on 22nd October, 2008 in Blackrock College RFC premises at Stradbrook Road.
There were 36 for dinner. Included among the honoured guests were the President of the College, Fr. Cormac O’Brolchain and the Chaplin to the Union, Fr. Tom Nash together with Fr. Sean Casey from the College. In addition the Union was delighted to welcome Past President, Fr. Aidan Lehane and the Principal of the College, Mr. Alan McGinty.
The assembly was particularly delighted to have in its midst Mr. James Gorman, who was President of the Union 1967-1968 thus ensuring a span of stories exceeding 50 years.
The Presidents and the Officers of the Committee enjoyed a long evening of food and wine and in particular a moving and heartfelt update from your President on the state of the Union and his hopes for it.
